- Tank manufacturer and exact model
- Clear photo of the data plate
- Tank material: enamelled steel, stainless steel or unknown
- Nominal volume
- Number/type of heat exchangers and heating elements
- Existing anode type, if known
- Photo of the existing anode port / service flange
- Thread or flange dimensions, if known
- Available insertion depth / internal drawing, if available
- Water conductivity or analysis, if available
- Description of the problem: corrosion concern, H₂S odour, difficult magnesium-anode service, controller fault, retrofit planning, etc.
What a useful answer should contain
Where the available documentation is sufficient, the response can identify:
- whether an electronic-anode retrofit appears technically feasible;
- which additional dimensions or documents are still missing;
- whether the existing magnesium anode should remain because the tank uses an OEM hybrid concept;
- which controller/electrode family should be checked against manufacturer data;
- which mounting, isolation and internal-clearance points require verification;
- which source manual or selection table controls the decision.
If the data are insufficient, the correct answer is “compatibility not yet established” rather than a guessed recommendation.
Limits of a photo assessment
- that every tank of a brand is compatible;
- that a thread match guarantees correct installation;
- that an active anode will repair existing corrosion damage;
- that H₂S odour has one guaranteed cause;
- that a particular current or setpoint is suitable without the exact controller/tank documentation.
For installers and technical users
If you have a manual, dimensional drawing, water analysis, controller fault code or commissioning measurements, include them. These are more useful than a general description.
