Important Technical Notes
- The potentiostat must remain continuously connected to mains power
- Disconnecting power immediately stops corrosion protection
- Correct electrical isolation of the electrode is essential
- System performance depends on correct installation and grounding
- Any additional metallic parts (heat exchangers, heating elements) in enamelled tanks must be properly insulated
Need Exact System Selection?
For precise system configuration, provide:
- Tank volume
- Tank material (enamelled or stainless steel)
- Number of heat exchangers
- Photo of the data plate (type label)
For specified water-heater systems, 2.3 V and 1.9 V are nominal potentiostat setpoints for particular configurations, not universal tank potentials. Actual drive voltage and protective current depend on the model, water conductivity, tank geometry and manufacturer approval.
No scheduled sacrificial-anode replacement is required, but the system is low-maintenance rather than maintenance-free: inspect the LED, cables and connections as specified by the manufacturer. Electricity consumption is low but model- and operating-condition-dependent.
Where stated in the model datasheet, the control unit uses Class II protective insulation. Class II is not an IP enclosure rating.
Adapters are available for common European thread sizes, but compatibility must be verified for the exact tank model, port, internal geometry and manufacturer instructions. The functional tank/cathode connection is distinct from the appliance protective-earth (PE) conductor.
DIN 4753-3 is relevant to corrosion protection of enamelled hot-water storage tanks, but compliance and system sizing must be confirmed for the exact tank/anode combination. Tank volume alone is not sufficient for selection.
Voltage, current, electrode length, temperature, pressure, enclosure rating and power-consumption values must be taken from the datasheet of the exact product; generic values are not binding.
